The Crippled Lamb

When I was a kid, my mom would read me the story of The Crippled Lamb.

It’s the story of a little Lamb who was born with a bad leg. He feels left out his entire life, until he’s awakened in the night by the baby Jesus being born in his stable. He learns why he was born with a crippled leg and finally feels like God cares about him.

Here’s a link to buy the cute little children’s book, if anyone is interested.

There’s a nativity at Hallmark that has a Lamb with a broken leg. This made me ridiculously happy and was a tender mercy. It reminded me of the story of The Crippled Lamb and that Heavenly Father has a special place for me.

Looking Back

I was watching Ashlynn Eaton’s newest video the other day about 10 Ways to Improve Your Life Before 2022. Enjoy it here!

It got me thinking about my digital clutter. With the way my life has been recently with my job and just being a mommy and wife, clutter and chores have been building up and I’ve had a hard time with it, I’ll be honest. It’s not good for me when my space is filled with stuff, even when it’s in my digital space.

So, I went through the videos and pictures on my phone. I found some real gems from when Garrett was just a little baby learning how to walk.

I miss him being so little.

Daddy tickles!
This was one of the last bottles he had.
First year being a toot toot!
Such a cute penguin. 😍
This picture will always be one of my most prized possessions.
So dapper. 🥰

But with every step of his progression, I become more and more grateful that Heavenly Father gave us such a sweet little kiddo. He’s a chatterbox and he loves telling us all about the adventures he’s having in life.

There’s a story he’s been telling about something being as tall as the ceiling lately. I have no idea what he’s talking about, but it sure sounds intense and exciting! So, we do our best to share in his excitement about it.

He’s learned how to give kisses and it is the best thing in the universe!

And we can’t forget about our fur babies!

It’s been about a year since we said goodbye to my Sweetiebum, Roxie, and welcomed Oakley into our family.

He’s the sweetest kitty and we love him so much!

He loves to cuddle and snuggle and love us! Every day around Garrett’s naptime, Oakley will start getting really comfortable on my lap. He follows me around acting like, “Okay, Mom, it’s time for our daily cuddle time!”

I love my boy.

Then there’s Nougat!

She misses Roxie, I can tell. She hasn’t quite been the same little stinker since she lost her older sister. But the loss of Roxie has really helped me and Nougat’s relationship, actually. I tried to make sure that she knew how much we love her. Since then, she’s been very affectionate toward me. She has her daily cuddle time too . . . Until her brother comes in.

Overall, I’m grateful that Heavenly Father has blessed us with such amazing kids, the human and animal! I’m grateful that I had this opportunity to look back on another year as a mom and reflect on how much things have changed.

This Kiddo

🥰 This kiddo, though. 🥰

This is one of those special moments in my life that I wonder what I did to be so blessed.

Garrett looks so much like his daddy when he smiles like this. I love it so much!

Garrett has been a little sick this week with a cold. Ryan took him for a walk the other night and we think it might’ve gotten a little too cold for him.

We had our first official snow the other day! Garrett and Daddy built their first snowman! (Pictures are on Ryan’s phone, but they’re coming!)

I’m so grateful to have such a sweet little boy in my life and such a wonderful hubby who faithfully provides for our family in every way!

Work has been crazy this month due to the holiday which is why we haven’t been regular with our blog posts. 🙃

It’s snowing more and I’m absolutely loving it! Garrett gets really excited to see all the snowmen people are building and I’m soaking up every moment of his excitement.

I’m in love. 🥰

Garrett Snuggles

Garrett decided that he wanted mommy snuggles.

I’m absolutely willing to give him that!

He really loves our Christmas tree. We went to Grandma Wilson’s house and went through a lot of ornaments that were from my childhood. The Rudolph and elf ornament is one of those and it makes me happy that it’ll be something that my son can enjoy now.

Impromptu Christmas Lights!

With work, trying to get my story out into the world, and mom life, it’s been a bit insane!

Ryan is applying for a new job and that has been extremely difficult for him. He thinks and over thinks a lot, especially around times of big change.

There’s been a lot of things changing in our lives recently.

I got released from my calling as a leader for the young women in our church, which kind of came as a shock. I thought it’d be a while before they released me from that calling.

My new calling in our ward (church organization) is for activity leader for boys ages 8-11. It’s a lot less demanding of my time and energy, which has proven to be a blessing, actually. I think Heavenly Father and Jesus absolutely knew what They were doing.

I started working at a local Hallmark Gold Crown store again. I worked there before about 2016. I love that job, but it can be challenging at times.

What job isn’t?

Me trying to keep up with everything.

I love my life, but sometimes it’s hard to appreciate it.

I’m trying to get my book published after several months of it being in an awkward limbo where I couldn’t seem to figure anything out about it. That is stressful, oh my goodness!

I was going to publish the second book as Beyond His Curse. Ryan read the book and suggested it should focus on Brock in this book, a completely different character!

I liked the idea, but man, did I underestimate how hard that would be to make that drastic of a change!!

It’s taken months to get it to a place where it’s even a comprehensive story.

We’re at the finish line though!

Because it’s been so stressful lately, I didn’t feel like I could really do anything fun. My life felt like it consisted of work, mom life, and work again.

I felt like I couldn’t do anything to enjoy the season. Christmas is my absolute favorite time of year for so many reasons, so this feeling was actually kind of terrible.

I expressed this to Ryan who then said, “Let’s go see Christmas lights!”

So, we bundled up and went to check out some Christmas lights!

It’s Erick!
Fun with the fam!
Fun fact about Chandler. I really like moose. I call them moosen.

We had a BLAST!

Garrett waving at Santa!

I’m glad Ryan is so in touch with me. He knows when I’m in need of support and love. I’m so blessed to have a wonderful family and a wonderful life!

Thanks for reading!

Delays

So, Beyond The Archer’s Arrow was supposed to come out already. There have been several mishaps with uploading and now an unsatisfactory ending.

I’m working around the clock to get it out for everyone. I appreciate the patience that everyone has had with me and I hope this doesn’t hurt anyone’s trust in me.

I just want to create a good piece of art that can be enjoyed by those who read it.

I set the date of November 28th for the book then I worked all month nearly every day on top of having a two-year-old.

I hope everyone can understand.

Dancing Lights

We went around our area to find some dancing light shows again last night.

This one has an animation of Santa in the window going about his work. He stops and waves out the window a few times.

We told Garrett to wave at Santa and he did. The timing was perfect because he waved right back and Garrett. He got so excited and started shouting, “Santa wave! Santa wave!”

So adorable!
